Understand Affiliate commissions and the ledger

Learn how commissions are recorded, held, converted to the accounting currency, and made available for payout.

Version 1Last reviewed 23 Aug 2026
Affiliate commissions are recorded after the qualifying event is verified. Creator-product commission terms are snapshotted at the sale so later product edits do not rewrite historical attribution. Multi-currency sales are tracked in their sale currency and represented in the affiliate’s configured accounting currency according to the recorded conversion rule.

The ledger separates posted commission, hold, release, reserved payout, and settled or failed payout outcomes. Review the ledger and transaction history rather than relying only on a dashboard total.

Common questions

Why is a commission pending? The sale may still be within its hold or verification period. Why did the amount differ from the sale currency? Affiliate payout accounting can use a configured accounting currency and immutable conversion record.

Steps

  1. Open Affiliate Dashboard and review the commission or ledger view.
  2. Open a transaction to see its sale currency, accounting currency, and status.
  3. Wait for the hold to mature before requesting a payout.
  4. Use the recorded payout reference when contacting support about a discrepancy.
